This morning, we saw some scattered storms and downpours across Deep East Texas.  They may have just been the appetizer.  The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch until 10 p.m. for portions of the Pineywoods.  Those areas included are outlined in the graph above.

Angelina, Nacogdoches,San Augustine, Sabine, Shelby, Polk, Cherokee, Houston, and Trinity counties are included.  A few tornadoes across the area are likely, scattered large hail is also light with isolated very large hail events (greater than 2 inches in diameter), plus scattered damaging wind gusts of up to 70 mph are possible.

Tyler, Jasper, and Newton counties are not included in the watch area at this time.
