Injured Motorcyclist Thanks Rescuers on ‘Today’ [VIDEO]

Brandon Wright
NBC

Brandon Wright, the 21-year-old man who was pulled to safety from beneath a burning car by a brave group of strangers, spoke out for the first time about his rescue on ‘Today.’

Wright, who sustained burns, scrapes and a fractured leg and pelvis from the incident, thanked his rescuers from a hospital bed. “I just wanted to thank all the heroes that put their lives on the line to save mine. I’m forever in debt. I can’t thank them enough,” he said, his voice thick with emotion.

Wright also briefly described the horrible ordeal. “I came to for about five seconds while I was under the car,” he said. “I just screamed a couple of times and I threw up some blood and it was lights out again.”

Once he’s well enough, Wright intends to thank each of his rescuers personally, he said.
