Severe Storms, Tornadoes Possible Sunday in the Pineywoods

A front will be moving across Deep East Texas over the next 12-24 hours bringing with it an increasing chance of rain and thunderstorms, possibly leading to severe storms especially by Sunday morning. 

The National Weather Service has put the rain chances at 70% overnight and then 90% for Sunday.  The best chance for heavier rainfall and severe storms will occur before noon on Sunday.  Damaging winds gusting to over 50 mph and hail could be expected in some areas of the Pineywoods, and an isolated tornado can not be ruled out.

Rain chances will continue through Tuesday.
