The Storm Prediction Center in Oklahoma City has issued a Tornado Watch until 9 p.m. which includes Angelina, Nacogdoches, San Augustine, Shelby, and Sabine counties.

Primary threats include tornadoes, widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3 inches in diameter, and scattered damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph.

The thunderstorms will form over northeast Texas and spread across the watch area throughout the evening.  Remember, a tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.  Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.
