Groveton ISD Honors Veterans With Annual Luncheon Event

Veterans Day may be over, but for Groveton ISD, their big day for honoring area veterans is coming up on Thursday, November 13.

The annual Veterans Day Luncheon on the Groveton campus has become a great tradition. Several years ago, organizers in Groveton wanted to create an event to honor area veterans, but realized numerous school districts and businesses in Deep East Texas already had events and programs. To optimize the number of veterans who could attend the Groveton Veterans Day Luncheon, it was decided to hold the event a few days removed from November 11.

2025 Groveton ISD Veterans Day Luncheon

This year's Veterans Day Luncheon at Groveton ISD will be on Thursday, November 13, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Veterans, their spouses, and active duty military personnel have the choice of enjoying a delicious BBQ lunch inside the Groveton ISD Auditorium, or they can get their lunch to-go with a campus drive-through option. There are numerous stations set up on campus that honor veterans in various ways, so I would suggest driving through campus to experience the stations and then going inside to enjoy the meal.

Veterans Honor Wall

Another reason to go inside the auditorium is to see the Veterans Honor Wall. It's full of photos of area veterans, detailing their name and branch of service. Other items are also on display in the auditorium, honoring our vets. Groveton is updating the honor wall. Any veterans or welcome to submit their name, branch of service, and a photo (if possible) to Mrs. Anderson via email (landerson@grovetonisd.net).
