Today is a chance to thank those women and men who have stepped up to serve. Granted, we should be thanking them everyday, but this is the national day when all of America takes the time to show gratitude.
Friday, November 11th, Huntington ISD presented their 21st annual Veteran's Day Program. Huntington has a great reputation of holding one of the best programs in East Texas, and once again they did not disappoint.
Maybe you've seen a few green lights around East Texas this week. At work, on the front porch, and on college campuses, people are replacing white lights with green bulbs to show support for veterans. And it's easy to become part of the movement.
On this date in 1918, in the 11th month, the 11th hour of the 11th day, World War I officially came to an end. Originally called Armistice Day, legislation in 1954 officially changed the name to Veterans Day to honor all of our soldiers.
