Angelina County Man Arrested After Video Of Dog Abuse Surfaces In Lufkin, Texas
Yesterday afternoon a video surfaced on social media of what appeared to be a man whipping a dog with what some described as a fishing pole at The Pine Valley Mobile Home Village in Lufkin, Texas.
The video, which I won't post here, was very hard to watch. The dog was being dragged by a leash, whipped repeatedly, and put in a large kennel next to a trailer home.
There was public outcry after the video made it to Facebook to have the dogs removed and the man arrested. Less than 24 hours later that has been accomplished by the Angelina County Sheriff's Office (ACSO).
Arrest Made In Case Of Video Of Man Abusing Dog
Lorenzo Johnson of Lufkin was arrested around 11 am on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022. He has been charged with felony cruelty to animals.
All three of the dogs that were in the video have been seized, which were all of the dogs on his property. The dogs will now be held pending a court hearing where a final decision will be made according to the ACSO.
There was an official report made, and along with the video, it got the attention of law enforcement. From there ASCO was able to validate the video and identify the suspect.
