I like to look at the percentages of non-top prizes that have been claimed and compare that against the number of top prizes that have been claimed, and then see if the odds tilt a little more in your favor for winning the jackpot.

Here's a very simplified and non-scientific examply - let's say I draw 8 cards from a deck of cards, and none of those cards are queens. The chance of drawing a queen is now better than it was when I first started with 52 cards.
