The Biggest Buc-ee’s on The Planet Will Open in Texas in June

I was doing some research recently on major events that happened on June 10.

• Judy Garland was born on this date, one of Hollywood's most beloved actresses/singers.
• June 10, 1752, is supposedly when Benjamin Franklin flew a kite to gather static charge from an approaching storm.
• The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), formerly known as the Texas State Highway Department, was established on June 10, 1922.
• June 10, 2024, Luling, Texas will become the home of the largest Buc-ee's in the world.

75,000+ Square Feet of Beautiful Bathrooms, BBQ, and Beaver Nuggets

It seems only appropriate the latest largest Buc-ee's will open on the birthdate of Judy Garland because this store will not only be 'over the top', it will be 'Over the Rainbow' when it comes to travel centers.

Luling deserves to take over the title of the biggest Buc-ee's. This town was the home of the first Buc-ee's that was designated as a travel center convenience store. In November 2022, the ceremonial groundbreaking of this mammoth Buc-ee's took place.

What Happens to the Old Luling Buc-ee's?

The soon-to-be 'old' Luling Buc-ee's is less than half the size of the new one, but it still dwarfs most any other travel center that doesn't have a beaver image flying high above it. I haven't heard what plans are in the works for the old location, but here are some ideas.

🐾Buc-ee's Bistro - Why not a sit-down specialty eatery? A slower pace awaits as you have a selection of BBQ, deli items, desserts, and a bag of Beaver Nuggets to take with you.

🐾Buc-ee's: In Season - Whether it's close to Christmas, Halloween, St. Patrick's Day, Valentine's or Easter, this store would sell items that correspond to the season.

Visit Luling in June

Luling is located on Interstate 10,  about 45 miles south of Austin, and nearly an hour east of San Antonio. It's located in Caldwell County, which is the county in which I was born and raised.

I will be visiting the new Buc-ee's as soon as I can, and I hope to make it to the annual Luling Watermelon Thump. This event has been going on since 1954, and it's always a fun, family event. Who knows, maybe the Buc-ee's Beaver will make an appearance.
