Central Foursome Catch Monster Gar

Sunday evening proved to be quite an adventure on Sam Rayburn for a group of young men from Central. 

Tyler McHenry, Colton McQuilkin, Hunter Clifton, and Grant Clifton were out on the lake near Caney Creek in about 5 feet of water when they spotted a monster-sized alligator gar.  After a perfectly placed shot from a bow and arrow, the gar was brought to shore.

The gar measured 8 feet, 1 inch and weighed 200 pounds.  The gar is one ice now as the guys try to find a taxidermist to mount the prize catch.
