How about those Central Heights Blue Devils!!  They outscored their two opponents at the state tourney in Round Rock 17-0 to bring home the Texas Class 3A baseball state championship.

In 2015 and 2016, the West Trojans were the Class 3A state champs.  This year, Whitesboro and Wall were two of the final four teams in the mix.  Would another team that started with a 'W' be state champs in 2017?

Not only no, but HECK no!

The Blue Devils shut down Whitesboro on Wednesday at Dell Diamond by a final score of 7-0.  In the semifinal victory, Texas A&M commit Grayson Rodriguez picked up his 14th win in 15 decisions, striking out 14 in the complete game 2-hit gem.  Rowan Arrant drove in four of the seven runs. Braden Thomas and Matthew Taylor each drove in a run.

In the state title game, Arrant toed the rubber and pitch a 2-hit beauty, striking out 7. The Blue Devils scored 1 in the first, 2 in the second, and exploded for 7 in the 3rd en route to the 10-0 victory.  Cade Watson led the way with 3 RBIs, Matthew Taylor and Will Haley each had 2 RBIs, and Cade McCarty, Grayson Rodriguez, and Cole Reneau each had one RBI.

The Central Heights Blue Devils are Matthew Taylor, Cade McCarty, Clayton Ray, Sam Nortch, Wyatt Allen, Ryan McClellan, Cade Watson, Will Haley, Braden Thomas, Dillon Burris, Cole Reneau, Tyler Burris, Michael Badders, Devin Yates, Grayson Rodriguez, J'Kolvin Wallace, Rowan Arrant, and Jacob Miller.  The head coach is Travis Jackson, and he is assisted by Brett Thornell, Collin Wallace, and Nathan Williams.

Central Heights finishes the season with a record of 37-2-1 while the Wall Hawks post a season ending record of 31-4-1.
