Chris Lane may want to consider bringing his nephew, Cally, on tour. Or maybe not, because he might be shown up at the mic!

The "Take Back Home Girl" hitmaker sat down with his little buddy for a performance on the stoop of a house, only Cally "wouldn't let me sing," Lane says. The new duo played the country singer's "New Phone, Who's This," with Cally providing the vocals while Uncle Chris played guitar.

Turns out talent runs in the family!

“Callys exact words were: ‘Chris, I wanna be in a group just me and you and I wanna sing New Phone Who's This,’” Lane explains alongside the video. “But he wouldn’t let me sing ... he told me I could only play guitar, so as the greatest uncle in the world I shut up and played his guitar!"

Fans have essentially watched Cally grow up in front of their eyes, thanks to Lane's numerous social media posts about his nephew through the years:

"New Phone, Who’s This" is featured on Lane's current album Laps Around the Sun — a project that Lane says has allowed him to reach his full potential when it comes to his overall sound.

"I’ve learned a lot," Lane says in a press release. "With my first record, I was trying to figure out exactly what kind of sound I wanted to have, and now I know. I know what I truly love and what kind of artist I want to be. My goal was to make sure anyone who hears this album finds a song they can relate to. I hope I accomplished that."

Lane's Laps Around the Sun Tour — not co-starring Cally — kicks off on Oct. 12.
