Lufkin Police Release Identity of Person Killed in Tuesday’s Accident

Lufkin Police have released the name of the man who was killed in Tuesday's motorcycle/car crash that took place on Atkinson Drive. Jaime Gray, 45, of Lufkin passed away at a Houston Hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash.

According to the police report, the accident occurred at 5:55 p.m. when Crystal Tovar, 31, of Lufkin, allegedly pulled out of her driveway on Atkinson Drive in a Dodge Challenger into the path of a westbound motorcycle. Gray was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial Lufkin with serious injuries and later flown to Memorial Hermann in Houston.

Tovar was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a private drive and no insurance. She was not physically injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
