Cody Jinks cut a show short and was taken to the hospital on Friday night (Jun. 22) after struggling to play through what he described as "a severe onset of vertigo."

About an hour into his set at Omaha, Neb.'s SunTur Amphitheater, Jinks addressed the crowd, saying he felt dizzy. According to Omaha.com, he tried to see if sitting down would help, and played several songs while seated. However, he ended up apologizing profusely and being led off stage by his crew.

Jinks was subsequently forced to miss his Saturday date in Columbia, Mo. He posted a note on Facebook, thanking fans for their thoughts and prayers, and explaining: "My blood pressure spiked and I was taken to the hospital to get checked out."

He added that missing the Columbia date "breaks his heart," but that "On the bright side, I have a couple of weeks to get right. Playing music is my life and I’ll be back out sooner than later."

His next date is July 6 in Texas, so hopefully he will use the time off to get some rest. The Columbia date will be rescheduled.

Jinks has a busy summer ahead. In addition to his slate of tour dates, he has a new album on tap, Lifers, which will be released July 27. He also announced his first-ever curated curated music festival, the Loud and Heavy Fest, which will take place on Aug. 18 in Fort Worth.
