$200,000 in cash and prizes was paid out at the Fall Shoot Out this past weekend. Numerous anglers took home big checks including a 10-Year-Old from Diboll. I'll get to that in just a bit.

Aubrey, Texas is located just north of Dallas/Fort Worth. You'll find Lake Lewisville to its south and Lake Ray Roberts to its north. It's a town of about 5,000 people, and one of those just happens to be the grand champion of the 2022 Sealy Outdoors Fall Shoot Out on Lake Sam Rayburn.

Brandon Hohenstein hooked a big bass around lunchtime on Saturday and that monster fish ended up weighing 10.30 pounds. He won that hour and since it was a t-shirt bonus, Hohenstein doubled the payout to $2,000. But, he had a much bigger payout in his future.

That 10.30 bass earned Hohenstein the grand prize for this year's Fall Shoot Out. He ended up trailering home his brand new Phoenix 919 bass boat valued at $55,000.

Here are the Top Five Overall and Their Corresponding Prize

  1. Brandon Hohenstein, Aubrey, TX - 10.30, $55,000 Phoenix Bass Boat
  2. Shane Calvert, Coldspring, TX - 9.42, $2,500
  3. Tater Reynolds, Florien, LA - 9.24, $2,000
  4. Joshua Price, Temple, TX - 9.15, $1,500
  5. Lawrence Bias, Lufkin, TX - 9.00, $1,000

$200,000 in cash and prizes were given away during the tournament.  That includes $10,000 earmarked for anglers who brought in the first exact weight 3.00 and 4.00 bass each day of the tournament. Since that didn't happen at all, all four $2,500 checks were randomly drawn during Sunday's award ceremony.

One of those drawn to receive a big check was Levi Mettlen, The Diboll native is 10 years old, but since he was fishing in the adult division, he was eligible for the drawing, and, sure enough, he got one of the $2,500 payouts.
