Every winter, the television stations and Internet news sites provide us with tons of content about snowstorms, but we never really experience it in Lufkin, Nacogdoches, or other areas of east Texas.

Coming from Canada, I've had my fair share of snowstorms. They're fun when you're a child - there's no school, you can build a snowman and have snowball fights with your friends and family - but when you're an adult, shoveling your driveway, driving in the snow and cleaning up the slushy mess is not so fun.

However, if you've never seen snow before, you might be intrigued and excited to see what this cold, white stuff is all about. Or, the reason you're living in Texas is because you want to avoid the snow!

If Lufkin or Nacogdoches does get hit with a snowstorm this winter, we'll be sure to keep you posted on school closings, road closures, delays, and any other weather updates we have for you.

Below are some fun photos I found on Instagram, which were taken from different Instagram users throughout the state of Texas. Search for the hashtag #texassnow to look at more, and don't forget to follow KICKS 105 on Instagram at tsm_lufkin, #kicks105.
