East Texas Football Stars Commit to Colleges
This is what they've worked for. It's the time of year that high school football standouts get offers from colleges, and start to make the decisions on where they'll play football on Saturdays in the fall.
We've got the news on where some of your favorite players might be headed.
The Lufkin Panthers' Dhailon Phillips is headed to Central Texas, to play football this fall at Texas State. Quarterback Kordell Rodgers has pledged to Texas State too, and both players may find good playing time this fall as they try to help the team turn things around. The Bobcats were 2-10 and 0-8 in the Sun Belt Conference last season.
ETSN.FM says other East Texas high school football players to receive offers include:
Henderson's Trestan Ebner - Baylor
Pleasant Grove's Jackson Pace - Abilene Christian
Marshall's Chasen Hines - Oklahoma State, Baylor, Louisiana Tech, Minnesota, North Texas, Texas, TCU
Center's Octavius Evans - Boise State
Arp's Demarvion Overshown - Kansas, SMU, Southern Miss, TCU, Texas, UTSA
Some big decisions lie ahead for those guys, and we'll keep an ear to the ground to see where they end up. National Signing Day is coming up Wednesday, February 1st. For now, congratulations on the amazing high school careers guys, and good luck at the next level. We know you'll do East Texas proud.
