Here's a quick list of things you can always expect in Deep East Texas during the holidays:

  • Crowded streets and stores
  • A non-white Christmas
  • Amazon packages everywhere
  • And...Whataburger stepping up to the plate to help the community.

Thanksgiving came on November 28th, which meant a shorter than usual holiday shopping season.  That also means the Red Kettle Drive by the Salvation Army has had fewer days to meet their monetary goal.  Of course, that money is used to help the less fortunate in our area.  Well, now the Salvation Army is behind in their goal, and there are only a few days until Christmas.

Leave it to the folks at Whataburger to help out (which they also do for the community throughout the year).  Tonight (December 19th), eat at any of the 3 Whataburger restaurants in Lufkin and you'll be helping fund the Salvation Army.  50% of sales collected from 5 pm - 8 pm will be donated to the cause.

So, get your family dinner tonight from Whataburger and you'll be helping your neighbors in East Texas.
