Eat Ribeye, Enjoy Live Music, and Support East Texas Veterans
Every second Friday of the month, the Lufkin VFW Post 1836 has a steak night, complete with live music, beverages, great conversation and more. That steak night for April is actually happening on Friday, April 1. Yeah, I know, that's not the second Friday of the month, but there was a scheduling conflict, so it is happening tonight...and that's no April Fool's joke.
Tonight's steak night will be taking place from 6-8 p.m. at the VFW Post located at 1800 Ford Chapel Road in Lufkin. The cost is only $20 per person and for that you'll get an 8-ounce ribeye steak cooked up by Logan's Roadhouse. You'll also get a big baked potato, salad, roll and tea. A cash bar is available in the VFW's Cantina Room.
In addition to the wonderful food, there'll be live entertainment from East Texas favorite Bryan Harkness. If you'd like to dance, there's no problem with that at all. With the event ending at 8 p.m., you can still make it home for an early bedtime, or head out to another event. You don't have to be a veteran to attend, the public is more than welcome to attend. Keep in mind that the $20 goes straight to assisting veterans right here in Lufkin and the East Texas area.
This is just one of many events that will be a very busy period for the folks at the VFW. Buddy Poppy time is upon us, and the local VFW will be putting on their Buddy Poppy Extravaganza. This will then lead into events for Memorial Day recognition in May.
