By the time she was a junior hurler with the Hudson Hornets softball team, Kelsee Selman had already committed to play ball at LSU.  Then, in her junior and senior years, Selman and her teammates earned back to back 3A state championship titles.

In 2014, as a freshman, Selman led the LSU pitching staff in ERA (2.86) and opposing team batting average (.167) on her way to a 6-3 record, which included a no-hitter against Jackson State on February 28th.  However, at times, she had trouble locating the strike zone, which resulted in two other Tiger pitchers getting the lion's share of the starts.

Selman knew she had to be more consistent, so during the off-season this young lady with strong Christian beliefs put herself through an extremely challenging regimen in the hopes of making herself even tougher physically and mentally, and the dividends are paying off.

LSU has arguably the deepest pitching staff of any college team in the nation.  They have four top quality pitchers when most programs have two and are ecstatic with three.  The 16th ranked Tigers are 10-0 on the year, all four of their pitchers have picked up at least 2 wins each.  It's still early, but no one has been as dominating as Selman.  She leads the team in ERA (0.00) and opposing team batting average (.094).  The former Hudson standout is 2-0 on the year and in 10 innings pitched she has only given up 3 hits, struck out 15 and walked 1.

Keep it up, Kelsee.  East Texas is extremely proud of you and you're always in our prayers.
