For those of you that didn't know, former Texas senator Kay Bailey Hutchison has rather prominent ties to Nacogdoches. There is a room in the Steen Library on the SFA Campus that is dedicated to her, with lots of items that she donated to the school. She also has a rather large house, not even a block away from campus.

Well, that house is now undergoing a massive transition, from a residence to the SFA Culinary Cafe. I honestly had no idea that this was taking place. This is the sign that caught my attention first:

I was pretty intrigued by that. I think - at least from just looking from the outside in - that it would make a really cool dining experience. I mean, take a look at what the house currently looks like:

And, as you can see, the work is being done by Vaughn Construction out of College Station. So, naturally, their signs were very prominently displayed as well:

The only thing I'm curious about is this: What are they going to use the extra, small house for. You see, the big house also has a smaller house with it. It's kind of like a groundskeeper's house. This is what I'm talking about:

There's a lot of questions that come with the whole project. Questions such as, "What's is going to look like inside?" Or, "When will it be finished?" are two questions that come to the front of my mind.

But, regardless of the answers to all the questions, I think that we can all agree that this is a pretty neat addition to the SFA Campus.
