It will be a district showdown pitting two state-ranked teams against each other when the 5th-ranked Newton Eagles travel to play the 7th-ranked Woodville Eagles on Friday night. Both teams will eventually make the playoffs, but this game will probably decide who gets the bragging rights as district champion, plus a better position in the playoff bracket. Newton won last year's match-up, 32-9.
