Funeral Held for K-9 Officer Ogar

Ogar wasn't just a police dog.  He was a police officer.  And he was given full honors as he was remembered Saturday in Lindale.

The memorial service was held at First Baptist Church in Lindale Saturday afternoon, and drew dozens of law enforcement officers who wanted to show support for Ogar and his legacy.  He was given full police honors, along with prayers, as he was laid to rest.

Ogar followed a suspect into the woods last week after a traffic stop, and then officers heard gunshots.

There's been an outpouring of support since then, and a fund has been set up by Lindale's own Miranda Lambert through her MuttNation Foundation to help bring another K-9 officer to Smith County's Precinct 5.
