The Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office(NCSO) and the Nacogdoches County Constable Office Precinct 4 are working an investigation where human remains have been found.

Sheriff Jason Bridges stated that Sunday afternoon, dispatch received a call around 2:52 pm in reference to possible human remains that were found in a wooded area. NCSO deputies arrived on scene and identified the bones as human remains. Investigators with NCSO and the PCT 4 Constable Office arrived on scene and conducted a search of a wooded area where several human bones were collected along with woman’s clothing. Law Eforcement authorities continued the search this morning of the scene.

Sheriff Bridges stated that the human remains were discovered deep in a wooded area after a landowner was out checking his land near a private road known as Watermelon Patch Road that is located in the Sand Hill community on Hghway 21.

Investigators believe that the remains may be of Centrella Chimney who was reported missing from the Sand Hill area on July 27, 2016 to the Precinct 4 Constable Office. The discovery of the remains was less than three miles from Chimney residence. The dress found in the woods, also matched the description of what Chimney was last seen wearing.
