Huntington Middle School Evacuated Due to Written Threat
In a scene that has become far too common in East Texas, another school has evacuated their campus after a written threat was found on a bathroom wall.
According to a Facebook release from the Huntington ISD Page, the Superintendent of the district, David Flowers, noted that as of 2:15 p.m., they are evacuating their Middle School to First Baptist Church. Law enforcement is "sweeping" the Middle School Campus as a precaution after "we discovered something written on a bathroom wall."
Over the past several weeks, Central ISD and Hudson ISD have been evacuated at one or more of their campuses due to written bomb threats found in a bathroom. Thankfully, officials found no devices, however, events such as these costs time and money, not to mention the frustration, anxiety, and anger caused by these alarms.
There is no evidence that any of these three threats are related, but it is the opinion of this author, that, if found, the person(s) responsible should, at the very least, be held financially responsible for all the money spent and lost as a result of these 'pranks'.
