Man Caught After Evading Arrest In Nacogdoches County
On November 24, 2024, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office turned to Facebook to share news of a search for a subject that had evaded arrest. The individual had warrants for his arrest in Shelby County.
The man was described as a white male wearing an orange shirt and black pants. He fled from sheriff deputies on foot after a vehicle pursuit on County Road 525.
Rumors had started that the man was an escaped convict. That was not true, though he was wanted for charges in Nacogdoches County that later turned him into a convict.

On November 27, 2024, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office posted that they had apprehended the subject. Deputies caught up to Michael McNeely, 22, around 9 PM Tuesday at a private residence in the 3400 block of New Press Road without incident.

He was arrested on two warrants from Shelby County, with newly added charges from the NCSO. Evading arrest or detention with a vehicle is a third-degree felony.
