College Gameday Picks Texas A&M for First Round of Playoff
Next weekend, the college football playoff is officially underway. ESPN's premier college football kickoff show has decided to do it from College Station, Texas.
Next Friday, the first game of the college football playoff kicks off with Alabama at Oklahoma. College Gameday will be in Norman, Oklahoma for that game. That following Saturday, three college football playoff games will be taking place. Oregon, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M are all hosting playoff games that Saturday. College Gameday has picked College Station for the Saturday playoff location.
Ninth Time College Gameday Has Come to College Station
For the first time in 2025, College Gameday will be visiting the home of the Aggies. College Gameday actually did two separate Texas A&M games last year. However, College Gameday hasn't been a good luck charm overall for Texas A&M when they visit.

- November 11, 2000 (Oklahoma 35 -Texas A&M 31)
- November 4, 2006 (Oklahoma 17 - Texas A&M 16)
- September 8, 2012 (Florida 20 - Texas A&M 17)
- September 14, 2013 (Alabama 49 - Texas A&M 42)
- October 8, 2016 (Tennessee 38 - Texas A&M 45) WIN
- September 8, 2018 (Clemson 28 - Texas A&M 26)
- August 31, 2024 (Notre Dame 22 - Texas A&M 13)
- November 30, 2024 (Texas 17 - Texas A&M 7)
That's right, Texas A&M has only won a single time back in 2016 when College Gameday visits Kyle Field. That game in 2016 went into a double overtime as well for the Aggies to secure their only win. We will wait and see what happens next weekend. If Texas A&M defeats Miami, they will head to AT&T Stadium in Arlington to take on Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl Classic.
