Unbelievable Crimes Committed On Easter in Texas

Easter is always a time of family fun & enjoying candies. Some people like to associate Easter with the time of breaking the law. Whether it's stealing or giving away stuff that SHOULDN'T be in Easter eggs, there have been some crazy crimes committed around Easter in Texas.

This Dallas duo stole food from a Church on Easter Sunday

On April 20, 2014, a dastardly duo of 2 men stole approximately $2,000 worth of meats that from the Burning Bush church in Dallas. The 2 loaded the meat into their Dodge van and drove away. As of now, there has no follow up on what happened with the 2 suspects but the security footage of the robbery is still on YouTube.

This Texas man decided to give weed away in Easter eggs

Chocolate & candy (or apparently condoms) aren't the only things that people give away in Easter eggs for kids; Avante Nicholson in Lufkin, Texas decided to hide weed in Easter eggs in 3 different parks & a motel in 2025. We've covered this story before in great depth, which you can read here.

Easter is also a terrifyingly popular time for shootings around Texas

Yes it's scary to think there have been a handful of various incidents of shootings that occurred on or around Easter weekend in Texas. Like the shooting of Javoris Potier in Houston on April 9, 2023, this 2024 shooting Lubbock, and perhaps the most well known shooting to occur on Easter, the 1934 murders of Officer Edward Wheeler and Officer Holloway Murphy on Highway 114 near Dallas who were murdered by the infamous Bonnie & Clyde.

This woman wanted a five finger discount on Easter goods in Round Rock

Wrapping up our list is this case of stolen Easter eggs & Easter merch from a Walmart in Round Rock on April 1 2024. A woman named "Elosia" was seen pushing a shopping cart of merchandise into a friend's car before police caught up with her and arrested her on charges of shoplifting. The incident was captured on police body cam & uploaded onto YouTube in 2025.

Look I know it must've a STEAL to get tasty Easter candy but this is a bit much...
