Call 'em roadside attractions, rest stops or tourist  traps; America's loaded with them and Texas has one of the 10 most popular ones in the entire USA.

Mentalfloss just reposted a betwaycasino ranking of the most popular roadside attractions ... ... that sounds classier than "tourist traps" ... in the USA. Not surprisingly, Texas made the top 10.

Also not surprisingly, it's a weird, quirky place that is not, (as its name implies), a ranch at all.

Cadillac Ranch sits along the Texas portion of the legendary "mother road", route 66. (Which turns 100 this year, by the way.)

What And Where Is Cadillac Ranch?

Cadillac Ranch is on Route 66, near Amarillo, Texas and has been there ever since it was first erected by three experimental architects and artists ... dubbed "art hippies" by roadsideamerica ... in 1974. The quirky monument, I guess you could call it a "monument", consists of 10 classic Cadillac autos buried nose first in the ground at the exact same angle as the great pyramid of Giza.

There are a lot of things that make the Cadillac Ranch unique, one of them being that it is the only roadside attraction, (to my knowledge), people are encouraged to spray paint graffiti all over.�� "Oddities" attract visitors in general but getting a little love from Bruce Springsteen doesn't hurt any ...
