Search Reveals Numerous Brands of Drugs
Consent to search the vehicle was granted by Crawford, who is the registered owner of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 2.4 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, 123 grams of Alprazolam pills, and a small amount of marijuana. Alprazolam is a prescribed drug that is used to treat anxiety and panic disorders. It is packaged under the name Xanax.
Deputies located the drugs inside a cardboard box hidden inside the toolbox of the truck. Crawford was arrested at the scene and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail. Deputies suspect that Crawford had just recently obtained the drugs from the Houston area and was transporting the drugs back to Nacogdoches County to be distributed. Crawford has been charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, a 1st degree and 2nd degree felony, along with Possession of Marijuana.
