Lufkin Kick Flips New Skate Park Off! Kiwanis Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
It's finally here. A real concrete skate park has opened in Lufkin. If you weren't able to be there for the grand opening and ribbon-cutting, this video really captures the spirit of that day.
I don't know why, but when I was watching this video I actually got a little choked up. This is something that makes our town so much more interesting. Having stuff for the kids to do in Lufkin. That's just huge for a lot of people because this keeps them off the streets and on skateboards. I think the city did a great job! It looks amazing, and watching some guys that really know what they're doing, shredding it up right here in downtown is a first. it's really just something I thought we would never happen.
To all the citizens and city council members that had a part in making this happen. Your vision is now a reality. I think there are a lot of people that are very appreciative.
I am good friends with Mike Alridge with the Lufkin Parks and Recreation department and I think that he is really excited that kids are out there staying active. No a matter what sport they do. We were all impressed at how many people are using this facility already.
