$1.58 Billion Winner in Florida, Two $1 Million Winners in Texas
The largest Mega Millions jackpot in history has been won. Somebody walked into this Publix Grocery Store in Neptune Beach, Florida (Jacksonville suburb), and bought a lottery ticket that ended up matching all six numbers drawn Tuesday night.
The winning numbers were 13-19-20-32-33 with the yellow ball of 14. The record-setting jackpot was estimated to be $1.58 billion, the largest in Mega Millions history. The cash payout would be approximately $783 million.
The largest U.S. lottery payout was $2.04 billion in the Powerball game.
Millionaires
There were a total of 7 players who matched the first five numbers drawn, but not the bonus ball. That's a payout of $1 million. Two of those winners are from Texas, or at least the tickets were purchased in the Lone Star State.
One of those tickets was bought in Socorro, Texas, located southeast of El Paso, just this side of the Mexican border. It was purchased at the In & Out Gas Station at 10197 Alameda Drive.
The other million-dollar quick pick was purchased from a Circle K in Austin, located at 8205 Brodie Lane.
Neither Texas winner opted for the Megaplier which would have added an extra million to their winnings.
The Mega Millions jackpot will now drop back down to $20 million for the next drawing on Friday, August 11. The next Powerball drawing will take place Wednesday, August 9. That jackpot is now up to $170 million.
As always, good luck and play responsibly. The odds of winning the big payout are around 1 in 300,000,000.
