Mont Belvieu Angler Takes Top Honors at Big Bass Splash
The 36th annual Big Bass Splash on Lake Sam Rayburn is history. The event which is usually held in April had to be moved to October this year because of, well, because this is 2020. It seems only appropriate that given the way this year has played out, the anglers would have to contend with some of the fall out from Hurricane Delta on day one of the tourney.
Thankfully, the winds and rain never got too bad, and the first day of the tournament saw a slew of 7 and 8 pounders. However, on Saturday and Sunday, better weather prevailed and several nine pounders made their way to the stage. Most of the anglers who brought in the bigger fish said that they had their best luck, or skill, when fishing in 20-25 feet of water.
Here are the top five as well as a gallery of the some of the bigger fish and exact weight money fish from the tournament which paid out $600,000 in cash and prizes.
