7-Year-Old Lufkin Cowgirl Wins Thursday Night Mutton Busting

Night two of the Angelina Benefit Rodeo in Lufkin, Texas provided more spills and thrills for the Thursday night crowd. Although bull riding is the number one draw at a rodeo, mutton busting is a crowd favorite as well.

The competition was tough on Thursday night and the scores were tightly packed. Five riders broke the 80-point barrier, but it was a 7-year-old rider from Lufkin who took the top prize.

Emmy Jackson rode the sheep named Carrie Underwool to a score of 86 points. She was followed closely by Ashtyn Whitaker (85), Jay Brantner (84), Ella Pippin (83), and Hagen Barber (81).
