Get Ready for Week Four

We're getting ready for another great night of high school football, and, of course, we'll cover it all with the KICKS 105 Friday Night Frenzy powered by Kelly's Truck Parts.

Once again, we'll be providing the most comprehensive list and update of high school football scores in Deep East Texas, sponsored by Truss & Son Plumbing.

The KICKS 105 Friday Night Football Frenzy airs from 9 - 11 pm and is full of features celebrating football and those who make Friday nights special.  Let's take a look back and a look ahead.

FNF Game of the Week Powered by East Texas Slab Masters

This week, two games have made our Friday Night Frenzy games of the week.

#1 LONGVIEW VS LUFKIN

What's not to like about this matchup? It's the first district game for two teams that are not particular fond of each other. Both teams are undefeated. Longview is ranked number one in the state in Class 5A - Division 1. Lufkin is a major underdog, but the Pack knocked off the number 3 team in the state last week, and on the road.

ALTO VS GARRISON

Much like the Longview/Lufkin matchup, these two teams have a history of facing each other. Both teams are 2-1 and both teams are looking for bragging rights.  I'm looking for a back-and-forth battle.

FNF Band of the Week Powered by Brown Family Health Center

We salute the Nacogdoches Golden Dragon Marching Band led by drum major, Adrian Belista. The band received their 42nd consecutive 1st division rating at region marching contest last year and competed at UIL State Marching Contest.  They also earned Sweepstakes at Concert and Sight-Reading contest this past Spring with 1st division ratings from all judges.  Region marching contest will be held in Longview, TX this year on October 15th.

Band director for Nacogdoches is Jacob Weems.

FNF Run DMC Awards powered by Dedicated Medical Center (Urgent Care, Orthopedic, and MRI)

Each Friday we'll be highlighting some of the top rushers in the area. This week we salute Terry Bussey of the Timpson Bears who has rushed for 550 yards in 3 games and has crossed the goal line for 10 rushing touchdowns.

For the second time this year, we salute Kedron Young from Lufkin who has rushed for nearly 500 yards, including a 99-yard TD run last Friday against A&M Consolidated.

FNF Stunner of the Night powered by Texas National Bank

Every Friday, some of the underdogs pull off the upset, and our Stunners of the Night spotlight some of those games. The biggest stunner of week 3 had to be the upset pulled off by the Lufkin Panthers as they coasted by the #3-ranked A&M Consolidated Tigers
