Nacogdoches Native Kasey Lansdale Holds CD Release Party

'Restless' is the name of the new CD from Kasey Lansdale.  You may want to add the word 'patience' to that title because Lansdale has certainly had a lot of that virtue in finally getting this release to see the light of day.  But, despite the wait...the product was well worth it.  

Lansdale wrote or co-wrote 7 of the songs on the album.   There are so many things that are impressive about her talent, but one that always captivates me is her ability to write and then perform songs that have such a wide range of styles.  From traditional sounding country bathed with the sound of the steel guitar to the attitude driven songs to the bluesy-rock grit-driven songs, and Lansdale is able to lend her voice so well to all these stylings.  And it seems that I'm not the only one raving about her music.

You'll have a chance to hear what I'm talking about first hand when she performs at a CD release party this Saturday night at the Barn Bar & Grill in Nacogdoches.  The doors will open at 8 and the show will start just after 9.
