No More Visible Tattoos for San Antonio Police
September is here and this new month brings a new set of guidelines for those wearing the badge in San Antonio.
According to a report, police officers in San Antonio can no longer have visible tattoos while they are on duty. This will affect nearly 10% of the force. Police with visible ink have several options. Long-sleeved uniform shirts can be worn to cover those tattoos on the arm. However, tattoos that are located on hands or fingers must be medically removed at the officer's expense.
The city of San Antonio is not the first major city in Texas to ban visible tattoos for law enforcement. Houston and Dallas have a similar ban, while officer in Austin must not show any tattoos deemed offensive.
