Officers Respond to Stabbing in Woden Involving Father and Son
According to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, a Nacogdoches man was arrested this morning (10/28) after allegedly stabbing his father several times and slashing his throat. Officers with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office responded to County Road 420 in Woden after receiving a 911 call from the suspect stating that he had stabbed his father over an argument.
Deputies arrived on scene and found the victim, George Foxworth, who was on the couch and appeared to be unconscious and covered in blood. Deputies started to conduct life saving measures to stop the bleeding and gave medical aid until Emergency Medical Services arrived.
A Life flight helicopter was called to the scene due to the seriousness of the victim’s condition. EMS transported the victim to a baseball field on the campus of Woden ISD, which was the nearest landing zone for the helicopter. The victim was then transported by helicopter to a Tyler Hospital.
The suspect, Blake Foxworth, 30, was arrested at a neighbor’s residence, where he went after the stabbing occurred. Foxworth has been booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (family violence), a 1st degree felony.
Both Blake and his father reside at the same residence where the altercation took place on County Road 420, which is located a few miles southeast of the campus of Woden ISD. As of this time, authorities with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office are reporting that the victim is still in surgery. No update on his condition has been given.
