SFA Asking for Fans Input in Design of New Basketball Court
There are a lot of changes coming this season for the Stephen F. Austin State University basketball teams. First and foremost will be the opening of the new Loddie Naymola Basketball Performance Center. The $26 million dollar facility could be fully ready by the end of September.
The Lumberjacks and Ladyjacks will transition their offices, practice facilities and other operations to this facility. The set up inside the William R. Johnson Coliseum will also be changing with designation of home/visitor seating, student sections and band seating. Even the placement of team benches and courtside seats is undergoing a huge change.
SFA Athletics are no longer part of the Southland Conference. Stephen F. Austin State University, Sam Houston State University, Abilene Christian University and Lamar University have all made the transition from the Southland to the Western Athletic Conference. Along with that change will be the changing of the look of the basketball court for Lumberjack and Ladyjack games...and SFA is asking for your input.
In a post on their SFA Athletics website, fans are encouraged to help pick the new basketball court design! The fan vote will be a part of the process to select the new court design in the William R. Johnson Coliseum ahead of the 2021-22 season. However, the poll is only open for 24 hours, and that began today (July 7).
There are four selections that you can vote on. Two of the choices feature the familiar SFA Logo at center court, while the other two choices feature an SFA logo with the SFA letters alongside a purple and white axe. There's a backdrop of trees featured in all four choices. There are also different color patterns to choose from.
