We're happy to report this good news from the family of Sophia Campa-Peters. The brave 9-year-old girl is recovering after her miraculous surgery in Boston, with way more than 10,000 prayers sent up for her.

Sophia's family has shared regular updates on her website, Facebook and Twitter. Her prayer request gained national attention, and it's absolutely remarkable to see the response and amazing outcome in her recovery.

Sophia's prayer request spread and was announced from the House floor by Rep. Jodey Arrington, the Bobby Bones Show and even The White House.

Here's the latest update from Sophia's website:

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 3, 2018

1:15 a.m. We are about an hour and half away from home!!! We were discharged from the hospital on Tuesday January 30th and remained in the Boston area until our final appointment in clinic with Dr. Superman on Thursday. He gave us the all-clear to come home and we spent most of Friday traveling back to Texas!!!

Sophia is doing great! We gave her the privacy and time she asked for to adjust to her post surgical state and now her confidence and personality are back to normal! She has even approved five post surgery photos to share now that she is finding her style with her new headgear. She visited the Boston Aquarium and Science Center but spent most of her time in the hotel playing stuffed animals with us and playing together as a family. You can view these in a new photo section labeled Boston Post Surgery, where I will add more photos as she approves them.

Dr. Superman and his staff were perfect! From the moment she met “Dr. Penguin“ from anesthesia, who quelled her anxiety before sedation, to the entire nursing staff that cared for her needs during recovery and kept her spirits and confidence up during and after her surgery.

Dr. Superman could not have impressed us more! His confidence, knowledge, and skill are simply remarkable!

Sophia will return to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth for MRI and MRA images in six months. Sophia was excited to know she will be seeing Dr. Stoic because she says she plans on giving him a big hug, tell him about her time in Boston, and thank him for helping her get there.

If the images reveal stable blood flow, she will return to Boston six months later to have a catheter angiogram to analyze the progress of her revascularization.

Thank you so much to every single person who has prayed for our little girl!

Sophia’s journey is not over, she has exciting news we will be posting very soon!

Thank you again for understanding that she needed our attention and focus to get herself back on track. She has been chatting all day about seeing her best friend this weekend, seeing her pets, and introducing her new stuffed animals to her old ones.

God Bless!!
