Hurricane season is here, and a local group that rescued over 100 last year is in need of funds to help with rescues this year.

Zeta, the 27th-named storm of the season, could be a Category 1 hurricane as it nears New Orleans.

Hurricane Dorian is continuing to move north-northwest through the open waters of the Atlantic. As it does so, it continues to gain strength.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season runs from June 1st through November 30th, and there are a couple storm systems that are showing some promise of development.

For the most part, it has been a quiet Hurricane Season.  In June, we experienced heavy rains from the remnants of Tropical Storm Bill, but nothing to speak of since then...until now?

As far as the Gulf of Mexico is concerned, this has been a very quiet hurricane season, at least, so far.  However, things could get a bit interesting towards the middle of next week.

All the recent weather talk has been focusing, and rightly so, on the devastating tornadoes that have been raking across the plains.  Well, don't look now, but hurricane season is almost upon us as well.
