Texas Mega Millions Winner Quintuples Their Payout to $5 Million
Nobody Won the Mega Millions Drawing for March 28
Someone in Texas Matched 5 Numbers to Win $1 Million
That Winner Paid the Extra Buck to Megaply and Increased the Payout to $5 Million
What Can You Get For A Buck?
- One stamp
- A small bag of ice at Buc-ee's
- Any-sized french fries at participating McDonald's.
- $4,000,000
Yes, one dollar will get you $4 million. At least, that's exactly what happened to a Texas winner on Friday's Mega Millions drawing.
Texas Has a $5 Million Winner
The winning numbers for the Mega Millions drawing on Friday, March 28, were 2-9-31-60-63 with a Mega Ball of 23.
Nobody matched all six numbers for the $20 million jackpot, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a multi-million dollar winner.
One person matched all five non-Mega Ball numbers in Friday's drawing. That winning ticket was purchased at a Race Trac located in western Fort Worth, near White Settlement.
Matching those five numbers is worth a $1 million cash prize. However, the Mega Millions game has a way to multiply your payout.
The Megaplier option is described as follows on the Texas Lottery 'How to Play' website:
Any non-grand/jackpot prize you win in a Mega Millions play will be multiplied by the Megaplier number drawn if you have purchased the Megaplier feature
If the drawn Megaplier ball is 2, for example, you double your cash. That $10 payout becomes $20.
