Texas Lottery Verifies $1 Million Powerball Winner
The Powerball and Mega Millions games each had huge jackpot payouts over the past week. On October 18, a winning Powerball ticket worth $331 million was sold in Oregon, and on October 17, a winning Mega Millions worth $113 million was sold in Arizona.
That means that the jackpots for both games have returned to their base amount of $20 million.
Monday's Powerball Drawing
No one matched all six winning numbers (15-16-32-47-54, PB-6) for the Powerball drawing on Monday, January 20. However, one nationwide ticket managed to match all five non-Powerball numbers.
That ticket was worth $1 million, and it was sold at the QuickTrip located on San Pedro Avenue near the San Antonio International Airport. The winner did not spend the extra buck for the Power Play option, so an extra $1 million will not be going into their pocket.
The next Powerball drawing is coming up on Wednesday, October 22. The jackpot will be worth an estimated $31 million.
Mega Millions Game
The next Mega Millions drawing will happen on Tuesday, October 21. The jackpot is worth $20 million.
Two Other Texas Winners
The Cash Five game from the Texas Lottery produced two jackpot-winning tickets on its most recent drawing on January 20. One winning ticket was purchased at a RaceTrac located on Great Southwest Parkway in Grand Prairie, while the other was bought at a 7-Eleven Convenience Store on West NW Highway in Dallas.
Each winning ticket was worth $25,000.
