It's only been just about 2 weeks since I learned about "Flappy Bird".  If you aren't aware, "Flappy Bird" is a game that you used to be able to download for free on your phone, or tablet.  The game has been downloaded over 50 million times in just a few weeks.  Now it's gone!

The creator of "Flappy Bird", Nguyen Ha Dong, has pulled the game from the Apple App Store and the Android Markeplace.  He was making $50,000 a DAY, and he pulled the dang game!  Granted this little game is ridiculously difficult, and made several of us around the office very frustrated trying to play it.  The high score here, so far, is 9.  Yes 9!  Stupid bird game!

This is all very bizarre, but it's about to get even more bizarre:  since the game is not available and people everywhere want it, some crazy individuals have gone to incredible lengths to acquire "Flappy Bird".  People are selling their phones with the game loaded on it for... Hold onto your butts... $100,000!!!  People are auctioning off their phones on Ebay.  The prices have sort of leveled off in the last couple of days, but I'd still entertain the possibility of selling mine for $900 if someone was interested.  Check out some of these crazy bids:

Nguyen says he couldn't take the pressure anymore so he pulled the game.  I don't know about you, but I can find a way to deal with the pressure when I'm making $50,000 a day!  Man up Nguyen.

Until he mans up and makes the game available again, there are several people here in the KICKS building with phones that have "Flappy Bird" loaded on them, and we're taking offers immediately.  We'll give you the absolute, rock bottom, good ole boy discount too!  Bidding starts NOW.

UPDATE!!

Look out boys and girls - we have a new game that could be better than the original!  There's a contender that is about to debut in the App Store and Android Marketplace that has been officially endorsed by "Flappy Bird" creator Nguyen Ha Dong.  It's called "Amazing Cupid".  It seems to be a hybrid of "Flappy Bird" and another popular App called "Snapchat".  You play the game and your friends have the ability to message you when you post your high scores.  Prepare yourself because these will not be messages of support.  They will probably berate you and call you funny names.  In short, your life will never be the same again!  As if the original wasn't hard enough (darn near impossible), the new version has three game options, Normal, Hard, and Impossibro.  Word of advice--Learn how to smack talk well before taking on Impossibro!

Now I'll just get back to wasting most of my day with this stupid game!
