UPDATED:  The Storm Prediction Center has extended and redefined the Tornado Watch, now in effect until 10 pm for persons in Angelina, Nacogdoches, Shelby, San Augustine, Sabine, Jasper, Newton, Tyler, Polk, and Trinity Counties.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has issued a Tornado Watch effective until 3pm for all of Deep East Texas.  This include Angelina, Nacogdoches, and all adjacent counties.

A Tornado watch is issued when conditions in an area are favorable for the development of tornadoes.  Hail up to the size of ping pong balls are possible as well.  Due to the volatile nature of the atmospheric conditions, strong tornadoes of EF-2 magnitude or greater are possible (winds of at least of 111 mph).
