A strong storm system to our southwest is expected to slowly move towards and through the Pineywoods of East Texas over the course of the next 36 hours bringing with the the potential for heavy rains and severe weather.  In fact, a Flash Flood Watch has already been issued for some counties across East Texas (not yet including Angelina or Nacogdoches counties).  There should be widespread rain amounts of 3-5 inches in the area, but upwards of 7 inches or more could also occur.  This rainfall would be coming down on areas that have already had significant rainfall over the past 30 days so localized flooding would seem to be rather likely.

Also, severe storms with damaging winds and isolated tornadoes on Wednesday can not be ruled out.
