Football Season is Around the Corner

On September 2, the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks will kick off their season with a road game in Alabama against the Troy Trojans. The 'Jacks will defend their 2022 Western Athletic Conference championship crown by participating in the new United Athletic Conference (UAC).

What is the UAC?

The United Athletic Conference is a merger of football teams from the Western Athletic and ASUN Conferences. Along with SFA, the following schools are included in the division:

• Abilene Christian
• Austin Peay
• Central Arkansas
• Eastern Kentucky
• North Alabama
• Southern Utah
• Tarleton State
• Utah Tech

UT-Rio Grande Valley will join in 2025.

It's Time to Meet the 'Jacks

On Tuesday, August 22, the annual Meet the 'Jacks will be held at the Nacogdoches County Expo & Civic Center beginning at 7 p.m. The event was originally going to be held on the campus of SFA, but because of overwhelming ticket demand, it had to be moved to a larger venue.

This year's keynote speaker will be Wade Phillips, a legendary leader who has been the head coach for the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, and several other NFL teams.  He is currently the head coach of the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL.

Meet the 'Jacks is a great opportunity to get to know the players and coaches of SFA football. It benefits the SFA Athletics summer school scholarship fund.

Individual reserved tickets are $30 each, but there are also several reserved table options as well ---
1) Swing the Shirt Table: Sit with Coach Carthel, an autographed football, and an autographed helmet for the table sponsor
2) Lumberjack Legacy Table: Sit with a Student-Athlete and a sideline access pass with parking for the table sponsor
3) 'Jacks Backers Table: Sit with a coach and an autographed football for the table sponsor
