Well, it's cleared to resume production. WFAA in Dallas is reporting the the delicious ice cream has has been given the all-clear to produce ice cream again at its Sylacauga, Ala., plant.

It was March of this year when Blue Bell discovered their link to illnesses cause by lystiria, by April the company had voluntarily halted production on Texas' most favorite desert, and removed stock from grocery shelves.

Dr. Jim McVay, of the Alabama Department of Public Health, confirmed the Sylacauga plant is approved to produce any items with no restrictions. The creamery has been voluntarily sharing test results with the health department, and all tests have come back negative for listeria contamination.

Blue Bell confirmed to News 8 production has begun at the facility and is building up inventory. No other plans have been announced, as of yet.

"At this time, we do not have a date when our products will return to market," said Jenny Van Dorf, a spokeswoman with Blue Bell.

Earlier this summer billionaire Fort Worth investor Sid Bass purchased a stake in Blue Bell. CEO Paul Kruse said the investment from Bass will ensure the successful return of the ice cream.
