The annual Super Safety Saturday event presented by Woodland Heights Medical Center will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on November 2 at the hospital's parking lot.

There will be numerous booths showcasing safety tips, information, and demonstrations to kids and their families. Representatives from area law enforcement and first responders will be on hand offering information and tours of their emergency vehicles. The PHI Helicopter and crew will also be flying in for this year's event.

You can enter the Woodland Heights Medical Center parking lot via Gaslight Boulevard or Loop 287.

Scores of Bicycles to be Given Away

When Super Safety Saturday wraps up at noon, over 100 bicycles will have been given away to kids attending the event. This event is all about promoting safety, so each of those bikes will come with an approved safety helmet.

The drawings for the bicycles will happen periodically between 9 and noon, which means the earlier you get to the event the more drawings your kids will be in. So, increase the chances of winning a bike by getting to Super Safety Saturday when it starts and then sticking around until noon.

Oh...and be sure to bring a vehicle in which a bicycle can fit.

TxDOT and Child Safety Seats

Representatives from the Texas Department of Transportation will be there to demonstrate the proper way to secure a child safety seat in a vehicle. Did you know that TxDOT estimates show that nearly half of all child seats are installed improperly?

A big tip of the hat goes out to Lufkin Coca-Cola and Brookshire Brothers for providing free drinks for event attendees.

The KICKS 105 Road Show will be on hand from 9 a.m. to noon with Danny Merrell. Listen for more details about the event and for any weather-related changes.
