Someone in Texas Just Won $5 Million On This Scratch Off Game
If you're traveling Interstate 45 between Dallas and Houston, and take Exit 189 near Teague, you'll have a choice of a few convenience stores. One of those is the Exxon Jet Travel Plaza.
This store is a licensed seller of Texas Lottery Scratch-Off tickets. On Tuesday, July 29, somebody decided to take a shot at playing a $5,000,000 Ultimate game ticket.
You'll notice, it costs $50 for just one of these tickets. The $5,000,000 Ultimate game features four top prizes of $5 million. Until a few days ago, only one of those jackpots had been won (Fort Worth). Now, two of the four have been claimed.
Who Won the Money?
Whenever huge jackpots are won, rarely does the winner go public, so we will probably never know the name of the person who won the $5 million. It would be interesting to know if the winner is from the Teague area, or whether it was just someone traveling down the interstate and decided to stop for gas or a bathroom break.
I've never spent more than $20 on a scratch-off game, and that was a special occasion...like a birthday or Christmas gift. I guess the old adage of 'you gotta spend money to make money' holds true in this case.
Mega Millions Makes New Texas Millionaire
The Mega Millions game also produced a new Texas millionaire with Tuesday night's drawing. No one matched all six numbers, but someone who purchased a ticket at a Toot'N Totum store in Amarillo matched all five non-Mega Ball numbers for a $1 million payout.
